Ner's Random Musings on a life of interesting insights

a world of interesting factoids about nothing and everything

March 20th, 2003

cricket @ 07:03 am

am I the only one who is not titling entries about the war. Well, I'm not exactly sure, but I sure haven't seen many.

It's not that I don't care about the war, I do, but watching (or I should say listening) to the cricket world cup is a good distraction to world events. The match is India Versus Kenya and it shouldn't be too exciting of a match. I'm not too excited about the audio coverage I'm listening with as they are not at the grounds and therefore there's no ambient sounds of the crowd, the batting etc. I'm not disappointed enough as to pay about $150 for live video coverage from The Dish Network, and that's the important thing.

I woke up this morning with a huge neck ache, and therefore decided to get up early. My dad hasn't even gotten up yet, so I'm definitely up early, either that or he's just not awake or sleeping in. He got up at like 2 a.m. this morning, so I suppose he deserves a nap. It's definitely quiet in the house though, and Fiona's sleeping on my bed.

So war has begun. The inevitable has happened. And the important thing is that the world will and should go on. To update and so that I don't forget what happens later on when I read this. Air strikes started 90 minutes after the deadline targetting some suspected bunkers where Saddam and his seniors may have een staying. They will start the ground war at an undetermined time, and that will be interesting to see how it progresses. I haven't gotten any full news coverage lately, so will see what happens.

Last night, we went to a Mexican restaurant called el maguey, in Spanish it's the plant that is used to make tequila. I had a stuffed burrito which was extremely hot. I was crying after I finished, not because of world situation but because I positively suffering from the spiciness.

In more positive news, Grandma and mom are planning on going to a place called Y mountain to see the daffodils. I'm sure they will enjoy it. I figured that there wouldn't be much for me to see there so I decided to stay here and watch cricket. I'm going to try go get more ready to do my show tomorrow and that will include ripping more cds. I'll also try to work on my promo, but I have to find creativity first for that. Not much else is going on, so I'll exit to refill my coffee cup. More later.

If you still have time to go to wye mountain, go, it smells wonderful and there are so many flowers you can literally walk kinda crouched over and run your hands through them. Quite nice. Very beautiful.

I probably should have gone today. Too much news. My mom brought home some daffodil bulbs and they smell so beautiful. Maybe next year, wow it must have been amazing. Cold apparently, but amazing just the same.
