cold and gray @ 01:20 pm

Current Mood: tired tired

I'm sitting here at my moms school, was supposed to do some work today, but decided that after finding out that I had to submit an announcement with the principal for approval and then to the librarian that I'd just spend my time here proofing The King of Torts and hanging out. We finally got the network working by using a wireless network, and thank goodness, everything, at least a lot of web sites, are not blocked, but live journal isn't either. Lots of other services i.e. imap are blocked, so I guess I'm lucky. Semagic is blocked so I'm using the web update client for the first time, it's quite easy to use.

The day is cold and gray as I mentioned earlier in the subject line. There's a threat of snow, albeit light, this evening with more tomorrow morning. Pulaski COunty schools will most likely be cancelled, but Searcy, being the stupid district that it is and being that the snow swath is supposed to be more in the southern part of the state, we won't be closed. Thank god I don't work on Tuesdays, I'm staying at home. I'll hopefully be able to write my announcement tomorrow or even tonight. There's ice forecasted here on Wednesday and Thursday so maybe that will screw things up as far as Little Rock goes for a while. If it's icy I won't come on Wednesday either, just for safety sake.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, pretty relaxing. My dad;s meal was quite good; we had lima bean soup with Italian spices and a noodle dish with Chineese spices and chicken. My mom didn't like the soup but I didn't mind it at all, either dish. My mom makes a lot of the same dishes, kind of rotates, and though I don't mind this, I enjoy the newness of having something new to eat and experiment with. He hasn't made a bad tasting food since I have been home so maybe I'll be lucky.

I went to bed early last night, and felt bad because I didn't tal to Amber even though she called. I haven't not talked to her every day in a while. I chose to fall asleep in front of the Grammys. I was surprised by the big winner, Nora Jones, who is a sleeper in the music industry. It's really cool because usually pop singers only win, she's not a pop singer, and it makes me happy that someone non mainstream won for once. The pop radio station guys were complaining about her wins this morning, but they can go to hell as far as I'm concerned, I think it's ok for those not very popular to win, god knows, unpopular people in general don't get the spotlight much in general life and when someone as beautiful as her gets spotlighted, it's really ool. Well, more later, must continue reading.

I don't mind Norah Jones, and though it was nice to see her win, she won too damn many awards last night! Her music isn't that good and there are plenty of other new artists who deserved at least one of those things. Sorry, just had to get that out. That's my little rant for the day.

I very much enjoy reading your journal entries. You always have something insightful to say.

Thanks for your compliments. I must disagree with you about Nora Jones. First of all, she is young, my age actually 23. And her music is quite cool, calming, and surreal. Her jazz riffs are really amazing, and her voice is cool. I like John Mayer as well, and he should have won some more awards as well, I must agree with you there.

I could never get into John Mayer too much. Thank God Britney Spears didn't win too many awards that I heard of any way. *wrinkles nose in disgust*

Thank god for that, definitely a good thing that Britney didn't win much if any, wow that would suck.
