I woke up this morning, at 9:30 again :(, and everyone was scrambling around trying to get the main living room ready for Scott to check out, The fun started at 10:30 when this guy from KNWA, the local NBC affiliate. The college of engineering has been distributing a fact sheet around about me in hopes that my story can have some exposure and in hopes that maybe some day a chemical company or some chemical industry person might see me and agree that yes, I can do chemical engineering. So I wasn't surprised when I got the call. What I didn't eexpect was taht it was 10:30 and he wanted to do the story on me at 11:00, thirty minutes away. I wasn't even close to being ready; I hadn't had a shower and I wasn't shaved. The only thing I had time to do was shave, so I did that, and met with the guy. We basically sat in the tutoring room in the quad and talked about me and how I do things. They had asked me to bring my laptop down, so when we were filming me using the computer, the only web page I thought to bring up was my journal. I hope he does a good job on the story because it's going to be on both the 5:00 and the 6:00 news. I'm sure it will be fine. I guess I'll just take a shower tomorrow early just in case this thing happens again. Reporters, guess you gotta have em, right?
I did go to the ELC this afternoon to go to the going away party for our current director. Though she'd only been a director for a short time, she'd worked for the ELC for two years. She's only going across campus, bud we tutors will miss her. We had good food and I got to talk to all kinds of cool people that I hadn't talked to in a long time, so that was cool.
And that's about it. I think I'm going to start to pack a bit tonight so that I don't have to do it all in one night and totally stress out. Gotta feed Fiona, and watch this news story. More soon.
