Wal Mart, meeting people you know, and what I'm doing tomorrow and Sunday

I went on which is a site that allows you to generate a pdf file of your journal. It actually generates an lj book which technically can be printed out in a paperback or professionally produced hardback book. I never opened up the pdf before (I generated one a while back), and I'm very impressed with the quality. It even includes a table of contents with links to allow you to jump around in the pdf. Of course, when you have a journal as large as mine, it's a bit cumbersome to navigate, and takes a long time to export entries into a textfile, but it's neat anyway. The textfile from my journal calculates (according to word and including table of contents and contents) into 411000 words. That's a lot of words. I read back a bit starting toward the beginning of the journal, and man have I changed. Some of it actually is a bit depressing to read, but I guess this is why one keeps a journal right?

tried to work on research stuff today, and didn't get anything done at all. I'm planning on looking at the formatting guide for thesis this weekend, but we'll see how much I actually get done as we've got general conference going for church. I'll most likely watch the sessions tomorrow (two sessions) here at my room, and go over to the church building for the Sunday ones. I'm not looking forward to analyzing the difficult document about thesis formatting; they really want a particular format which may be difficult to recreate with Jaws.

Britany and I went to Wal Mart and picked up my five prescriptions and lots of soup, which I will be able to heat up easily and eat, even if I'm either totally out of it or on cloud 9.14. We were about to leave when I heard a name on the intercom of a guy I know from amateur radio. I figured it was the same person, but I thought I'd try and just see if he was actually in Wal Mart or if there was someone else with the same name needing to go to the automotive department. The John mentioned on the PA was the same as the one I knew, and he came over and so we met at the pharmacy as I got my preseciptions. So that's my advice for the day, listen to the Wal Mart PA system, you never know who you'll find that you know there. Everyone can find everything at Wal Mart, even people you know.

We picked up drinks at Sonic after we got or stuff, and I came back here and have been surfing the internet and trying to write this journal entry. I'd have finished earlier except for the fact that on our local news, Doctrine and Covenants, one of the bodies of canonized scripture we have, was mentioned. The Community of Christ (formerly the Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints) added a new section to the Doctrine and Covenants (a book of present-day revelations that both churches overlap mostly). So I had to go to their website and see what they actually believe, and also see what the text of the new section was. The LDS church has different sections in their D&C, but I'd never read any of the "new" ones from the Community of Christ, and since I like to compare religions, I was interested to read, not the newest one, but the last section from their Doctrine and Covenants. There are differences in the belief structures between the two groups, but their basic underlying structure and beginnings are the same. I'm still happy to belong to the church I do, but was interested to see what they were all about.

And that's about all. It's finally started raining now, which is probably good I'm not planning on being at the church building very much. Hopefully it will stop by tomorrow, but we'll see. I need to get to bed so I can get up relatively early, have breakfast, and then listen to conference. I will be looking forward to hearing what is said there, but I am especially looking forward to the Tabernacle Choir's singing, which you get in stereo if you listen to it on BYU Radio. Too bad I forgot my headphones, they help isolate me from the world much better than the little ones I have. I need to remember to take notes this time, it will keep me awake more easily and help me focus I think.
