a world of interesting factoids about nothing and everything

vorbistacular @ 10:26 pm

Well, the show is done and it was the best I've ever had. Mostly because I used vorbis for encoding. It allows for cool sounding sound that compensates for crappy internet that I have. So basically I just tried to do my best with making a professional quality sound using winamp and the setup I've devised. I'm listening to my archive, and I sound ok, listening to your voice really isn't something that is too cool, but I've gotten used to it. The sound quality is ok, but I think I'm going to interject less during quiet parts of songs, even though I think it's fun to do that.

The third birthday party for KXUA was tonight so in it's honor I pulled out the KXUA startup archive, basically I recoreded the first moments of kxua, and I played about five minutes of it. After thanking all kinds of people, the KXUA people started playing speeches, and they played them for about 30 minutes. I actually turned my recording off which was pretty stupid of me before the announcement, but after the thirty minutes of speeches, and interjections between saying that they had to play speeches because of licensing restrictions, and phone calls from us, the djs, saying that we wanted music, they announced that it was an April Fools Joke. They had a lot of us hooked, me included. I thought something was up though, and actually thought some of the speeches were actually cool, then it was kind of anticlimactic to find out that we were in fact going to play boring music. What a joke, one that I'll never forget. I'm the only one in kxua history who has that recording, I just forgot to burn it for them, and I enjoyed airing it tonight. Not anything else new, more later.
