We got here yesterday afternoon about 1 or so. The trip was pretty uneventful. Outside of Preston and right across the Utah border is an ice cream shop called Casper's. They make all of their own ice cream, and the Smiths told me it was some of the best ice cream around, so after downing some Wendys, we headed over there. We were going to drive straight here to Preston, so I decided I would get something "safe" in the way of ice cream, so I decided to get a chocolate malt. They believe in ice cream at Casper's, and I mean they believe in it. When I got my malt, it was in a small cup, and was heaped about an inch and a half above the top of the cup. This would normall not be a problem had I been given (a) a straw, (b) given more than one napkin, or (c) we wouldn't have been driving. Malts are generally somewhat liquid, and this worked against my favor as we drove down the road and I tried to keep the cup as level as humanly possible, by a blind guy at least (It's hard to keep a frame of reference and hold things level if you are blind). Oh yeah, and to make it worse, since the malt was way over the top of the cup, there did not exist a lid. If lid does not exist, mess must occur. By the time we got home, I had a rather attractive spatter pattern of ice cream on my sweatshirt and my pants. We have pictures, I'll pst them once I have them downloaded form the camera. It's something to behold for sure.
I've just been trying to relax as much as possible lately, because this weekend is going to be absolutely crazy with conference. Snow is actually forecast on Saturday so that should make things cold and interesting all at the same time.
I think we're going to go over to a neighbor's house who makes carved wood art. Sister Smith says that it's texured, and I love textured art, so I should have a stimulating and exciting time. Tonight we're having lasagna with home made noodles, and as usual from Sister Smith, it will be very tasty.
Not much else is going on here. We're going to take Fiona to the vet early tomorrow morning to get her nails clipped and get her a cortezone shot because her feet are itchy and she's been biting them a lot lately. Then, we're going to head back to Salt Lake to go to a vollyball game for one of the kids and an art exhibit from someone we know from Arkansas.
I continue to come up with new piano arrangements of different songs, and I even came up with a new song today which was kind of neat. Work will start again next week, but for now I'm enjoying having some time off. More soon.
