Fiona and me in the snow

merry Christmas

My dad and I are sitting here in our inner sanctum which is my room hanging. I got around to hooking up my XM, and wow the Christmas music that they have available. From jazz to newage, to world, everything Christmas. So right now, I' rockin out to a jazzy rendition of we three kings. Yes, 've always been a bit off kilter, but hey, it does help to put me in a wonderful Christmas spirit.

Which brings me to the topic at hand. Christmas, and a merry one to all I must say. I'm content to sit here, drink coffee, and listen to music. We still haven't opened up gifts and won't probably until everyone gets up. I really didn't want anything for Christmas because to me, its not all about gift giving and such.

I went to church for Christmas Eve, and it was good. It was a bit hard for me though because I saw many people that I knew when I went to church on a weekly basis back in high school. Its not that they have changed or I have changed, but I know that I don't go to church as much as I did. I was also pretty well known in our church, and I feel odd that I'm no longer as religious as I once was. I feel though that I hadn't, until college, had a chance to actually analyze what I believed and try to figure it all out. I still haven't had that complete chance though and I'm still in a journey to figure it all out which makes it a bit difficult for me here at home.

That doesn't supercede the fact that it is Christmas, and a tie of joy regardless of religion. Every religion has its time of joy, and though Christmas is Christian based, and really wasn't spun off by Christians as a whole but by Pagans many centuries ago, I'm still caught up as many are by the happiness of the day. Many good wishes to all, and I'll write more soon.
