Fiona and me in the snow

(no subject)

Its interesting that someone with as much education as I"ve had in my short life, that it took me like 20 minutes to figure out just how to get the gate across the hallway where we put crazy Zim, our little puppy, so he doesn't eat things up or bite things/animals. I was worried when I got in that I wouldn't be able to lift him over the gate, but that wasn't a huge problem. Thank goodness he's light and young, as I just kind of tossed him lightly over. He shook it off and started licking my hand so I guess it wasn't too bad. Lilly's found her "rightful" place on my bed. I don't think Fiona likes it too much because she jumps on the bed and Fiona, being one not to share, jumps off. I think she'd be happy to know that we're going back tomorrow wo she can be the queen that she things she is again.

The ACB convention continues to be covered. I think its really cool to listen to though a bit weird. I liken it to blind CSpan, though since some of what they're saying directly effects me, its less boring. Not only do they cover the main business sessions, but they do commentary, and since tomorrow and Friday is "let's argue for hours" days, it'll be especially interesting to hear the olor commentary on that one. Next year I plan to actually go to the convention, not that being in Las Vegas has any influence on my decision, but mostly because listening to it on the internet just isn't the same as going and socializing with the rest of us annoyign blindies :).

Today I'm planning on packing for tomorrow's ex-freaking-citing trip to Fayetteville. I'm not sure I'm ready to enter the land of academia yet, but ... so is life and the price of getting a degree. Luckily a lot of my stuff is still up there so we just have to gather up my myriad of electronic equipment and clothes and head out. My Dad always says that its not that simple, but it really shouldn't be too bad. We're also taking Lilly to the vet to get spayed today which should also be ex-freaking-citing, especially for her. Zim gets his day soon too which we hope will calm him down a bit. Having someone to play with has really helped though as when he's inside he just seems to like sleeping.

Its interesting how quickly my dad has turned to liking Lilly. Now she's just part of the family. God sure sends us interesting gifts at interesting times. I'll take them.
