Fiona and me in the snow

(no subject)

Haven't gotten a good chance to write much lately because my Grandma has been here and we got back from sunnyblue's wedding. So, my Grandma just left this morning, and now, with nothing to do but send books into Bookshare and watch TV, I write in my journal. IT's very quiet here now that Grandma's gone. I no longer have someone trying to argue with me for whose going to pay for what, and trying to get something for me all the time. I miss her. I'll live though; with the dogs and Liz coming in a week or so, I'll have things to do.

The wedding went well. We got to the northwest arkansas area on Saturday, got checked in, and then ate at a really tasty steak house with Megan's fam. We were honored that they invited us to the dinner. After not sleeping very well, we got up very early (relatively), got dressed, and drove to the chapel where they got married. It was located off of a long wooded path, and the day couldn't have been more perfect. It was my kind of wedding too, short not too huge. I know they will do great together, especially with their combined sense of humor. The whole thing made me reflect on Megan and our friendship over the years, because she's probably the first and only person I've kept in touch with from high school and whose now married. Makes me realize that we only continue to get older.

Since coming back, we all tried to recover from the long two days and subsequent trips to and from Little Rock. I think I'm somewhat back to normal now :). It was totally worth the trip though.

Well, I need to go. Ken Jennings and the gang are competing in the ultimate tournament on Jeopardy and the game is the second in the final tournament. It was close yesterday and I bet it's close today. Jennings is losing by a bit too, so that's a bonus. In fact, at the moment he's in third place. Somebody's got to lose right? More soon.

Jeopardy was great. It's no longer as close as it was yesterday, but the play is fast, and the questions are very very hard. I hope to be able to compete with uiz bowl next year with the university, so perhaps we'll find out how much I really know.

I forgot to mention in the last entry. My Mom and Dad were planning to go to New Orleans in the middle of the month of June. That plan fell through, but my Mom now wants to go to Arizona and asked me if I wanted to go. Why not I say? The only negative is the hot weather, but that, I can survive. More soon.
