This is going to be a test of whether or not I have forgotten how to write in braille. I know I haven't "forgotten", but I've bound a new "easier" way to post to lj using my new Pac Mate, and at this point, it's going to be a learning curve.Liz got here safely yesterday and we've been enjoying hanging out and playing with technology. She keeps telling me that she's not bored, but I still worry about that. I'm sure we'll come up with something to do. I'm glad she's here though as it's been hard to maintain the infamous long distance relationship for me. I always worry that I am not doing enough. Not much else is going on here and not much has been going on for me in a while. I've been doing a bit of research when I can here, but nothing I do seems to work. I had hoped that I could script something for myself to make the simulator work properly, but it's starting to look like we'll have to wait for funding, and then strong-arm the software company into fixing the software for me so that I can be a produdtive chemical engineer.I got my Trekker and though I haven't been able to travel around with it, I have realized just how far out here we actually are. I went outside to see if I could get a signal from the GPS, and also see if there were any pointsof interest nearby. "Erroreano pointsof interest nearby," it proclaimed. Looking around though, it did appear as if the closest stuff, on the maps I have tis, is some kind of auto body paint repair shop. Typical, I was thinking that maybe there'd be a trailer emporium nearby, who knows. I'm assuming the thing works great, but I really won't know how useful it is untilI go into civilization later this wwheeknowledge.Well, that's about all I can think of to write about. The spacebar on this thing seems to be leally stibb, and my thumbs aregetting tired. Perhaps it's a case of not knowing exactly how to type on this thing, per I shouldn't do really long entries in braille, and save braille entries for trips. I don't know now. More soon.
