Indeed, I used to not be able to stand minimalism, but, the more I continue to "give it a try", the more I liked it. Indeed, I find that therre is a certain "way" of listening to it; you can't listen to it like a "normal" piece, say, of country or pop music. That is, you can't listen to it linearly/sequentially. You have to listen to it as a musical idea that evolves gradually over time yet still retains that infinite/circular/cyclical quality. I have both heard excerpts from the album and watched excerpts of the movie. Peter Schickele (a.k.a. P.D.Q. Bach -- the Wierd Al of the Classical Music world) did a parody of the main theme and, instead of repeating the title, he rendered it as something like "too hotsie totsie"...or something like that. (It's been a while since I listened to PDQ Bach's version fo this).
