In a deeper sense evil actually proves the existence of God. In order for evil to exist, objective moral values have to exist. How can something be considered evil if there is no absolute standard by which to judge it? Without God, there are no objective moral values. All morals are relative, and hence nothing can be classified as evil. Therefore there is no contradiction between the statements "God exists," and "evil exists." There is no philosophical reason why these two entities cannot coexist or cancel each other out. How could you call something unworthy of God if there was no god?
