The Ner Report part 200: welcome to the real worl

It's been two days since I've written in here mostly because I've been trying to think of something interesting and insightful to write about for my 200th entry.

200 is a big number, an important one. The bicentennial of this country commemorated freedom and life. My 200th entry, one in the stream of long ones. When I think of this journal I think of what a reflecting pool might look like on a winter's day. Here in arkansas in the winter, pools and lakes don't freeze. So in the winter, steam rises lazily up from the pool. I would look down into this pool and see myself shrowded in a fog. Drop a stone in my pool, you'd get rings, but those rings would go out in concentric circles as my thoughts tend to do on these pages; people throwing well-meaning stones of insight and comment into the fray. Looking deeper into the pool you'd not only see me, but the long past of these past eight months. Amber my ex-girlfriend, how I loved her. The crack of my broken femur that cold January day. The long quiet days at my house listening to planes fly over. Every one of those topics you'll see as you look deeper in this pool. I've learned so much about myself, about others, and about writing over the past 200 entries. I've read thousands more than 200 of people's darkest thoughts. I've met so many cool people, and had so many cool conversations with them either in person or in these pages. May there be 200, 2000, 20000 more entries in this thing to come.
